With regard to build quality, Olympus is already at the forefront. Without exception, Olympus cameras continue to work under extreme conditions. No other brand can compete with that. But the finish of the Olympus cameras was not yet completely comparable to professional SLR cameras from Nikon or Panasonic. This has changed with the OM-D EM1X. The price and size of this camera is not for everyone. Just like a D5 or a 1Dx mk2 is not for everyone. But if you can afford an EM1X, then it is a pleasure to work with, to which the superior image stabilization of Olympus and the large buffer size of this camera certainly contribute.

Wat bouwkwaliteit betreft, loopt Olympus al voorop. Olympus camera's blijven zonder uitzondering werken onder extreme omstandigheden. Daar kan geen ander merk tegenop. Maar de afwerking van de Olympus camera's was nog niet helemaal vergelijkbaar met professionele spiegelreflexcamera's van Nikon of Panasonic. Met de OM-D EM1X is daar verandering in gekomen. De prijs en omvang van deze camera is niet voor iedereen weggelegd. Net zoals een D5 of een 1Dx mk2 niet voor iedereen is weggelegd. Maar als je je een EM1X kan veroorloven, dan is het een genot om mee te werken, waar de superieure beeldstabilisatie van Olympus en de grote buffergrootte van deze camera zeker aan bijdragen.
