Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary

There is an article on DPreview in which Richard Butler states that Sigma has done more for the owners of a camera with an APS-C sensor than Canon, Nikon and us put together. There is something to that: with the exception of Fujifilm, Olympus and Sigma, it seems that the manufacturers have focused their attention on lenses for cameras with a full-frame sensor. The Sigma 56 mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a great example of how Sigma produces high-quality, compact, lightweight lenses that bring out the benefits of a smaller sensor. This lens is specifically designed for Sony cameras with an APS-C sensor but can also be purchased in a micro-43 mount. It is a lens in the Contemporary series, with an attractive price-to-quality ratio. But as far as image quality is concerned, this portrait lens for APSC/micro-43 would not look out of place with the Art lens label.

De Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is een mooi voorbeeld dat Sigma hoogwaardige, compacte, lichte objectieven uitbrengt die de voordelen van een kleinere sensor tot hun recht laten komen. Dit objectief is specifiek ontworpen voor Sony camera's met een APS-C sensor, maar is ook te koop in een micro043 vatting. Het is een objectief in de Contemporary serie, met een aantrekkelijke prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding. Maar wat beeldkwaliteit betreft, zou deze portretlens voor APSC/ micro-43 het predikaat Art lens niet misstaan.
